IT IS A CIRCLE ON THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH WHOSE CENTRE AND RADIUS ARE SAME AS THAT OF THE EARTH

PROPERTIES

•It is biggest possible circle that can be described on the surface of the earth 

•It divides earth into two equal halves

•Its radius and centre are same as the earth 

•The small arc of the Great Circle joining two points represents the shortest distance between them

•Only one Great Circle can be made to pass through two points which are not diametrically opposite

•The direction of Great Circle is constantly changing

•Radio Signal (waves) follow Great Circle paths

•Example of Great Circle are The Equator, all meridians and there anti meridians, etc.
